Location: Japan (Remote/Field-based)
Are you passionate about Japanese culture, fluent in both English and Japanese, and have a keen eye for photography?
At Astage Inc. (astageinc.co.jp), we are expanding our team and looking for creative independent professionals. If you love storytelling, showing visitors hidden local gems, and capturing unforgettable memories, this hybrid freelance role is tailor-made for you.
What Makes This Role Different? (70% Guiding & 30% Photography)
Our tours aren’t just standard sightseeing excursions. We offer a unique hybrid experience focusing on both local guiding and taking stunning photos of our guests.
Instead of reading off a rigid, pre-packaged script, we believe the best experiences are crafted by people who know and love the area. You will have the creative freedom to design your own original tour itineraries. Once you pitch your ideas, our operations team will work closely with you to brush them up, refine them, and shape them into commercially viable, product-ready tours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide & Host: Lead iguests through cultural hotspots, historical landmarks, or hidden local neighborhoods using smooth English and Japanese communication.
- Capture the Moment: Act as the group’s photographer, taking professional-quality portrait and travel shots of guests throughout the tour.
- Design Itineraries: Propose and build creative, original tour concepts with support from the Astage Inc. product development team.
Who Are We Looking For? (Requirements)
To ensure a seamless experience for our guests, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Language Skills: Advanced or native proficiency in both English and Japanese.
- Legal Work Status: Must hold a valid visa or residency status that legally permits freelance/independent contractor work in Japan (Note: We are unable to sponsor working visas for freelance roles).
- Location: Currently based in Japan and able to commute easily to tour locations.
- Photography Passion & Gear: Comfortable directing guests for natural photos and equipped with a professional camera (DSLR/Mirrorless) with a strong photography portfolio to prove it.
- Hospitality Mindset: Friendly, outgoing, reliable, and deeply passionate about sharing the best of Japan with travelers.
Why Join Astage Inc.?
- Creative Ownership: Your ideas matter. Help shape unique, boutique travel products from scratch.
- Flexible Schedule: Enjoy the freedom of freelance and project-based scheduling.
- Grow Your Portfolio: Combine your love for guiding with professional travel and portrait photography.
